Excessive Sweating

About Face offers a solution for those suffering from hyperhidrosis, more commonly known as excessive sweating.

While your solution to excessive sweating may be to use deodorants and antiperspirants, these may not be enough in themselves if your condition keeps getting worse.

About Face uses Botox, to treat the symptoms of severe underarm sweating when medicines used on the skin do not work well.

For some people, sweating can be excessive. Severe underarm sweating, also known as primary axillary hyperhidrosis, is a condition in which the body sweats more than it has to regulate body temperature. The severity of the condition is based on the extent it interferes with your daily activities.

Sweating is a normal bodily function. In fact, the human body has between 2 million and 4 million sweat glands. When your body heats up, these glands release sweat to help cool you down. However, excessive sweating can actually be an annoying issue.

Botox is a natural, purified protein that can temporarily block the secretion of the chemical that is responsible for turning on the body’s sweat glands. By blocking, or interrupting, this chemical messenger, Botox “turns off” sweating in the area where it has been injected.

Consult our dermatologist to know whether you suffer from excessive sweating and how best to combat it.
